Robert asks…
Is a New Zeland Maori warriors head a Body Part, or Art?
Since 1875, the mummified, tattooed head of a Maori warrior has been part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Natural History at Rouen in Normandy. But when Rouen’s mayor arranged recently to return it to New Zealand as an act of “atonement” for colonial-era trafficking in human remains, the national Ministry of Culture stepped in to block him. The ministry contends that the head is a work of art that belongs to France and that its return could set an unfortunate precedent for a huge swath of the national museum collections — from Egyptian mummies in the Louvre to Asian treasures in the Musée Guimet and African and Oceanic artifacts in the Musée du Quai Branly.
So what do you think? Would you like for your ancestors body parts to be put on public display in some other countries museum?
OK kbeverid and Brother Ranulf I understand your points, but what about this comment made by Ms. Morin-Desailly, the deputy mayor?
She cites an important precedent in France concerning the return of human remains: those of Saartjie Baartman — the “Hottentot Venus” as she was pejoratively labeled in her day. A farmer’s slave born in 1789, she was sold to a British Marine surgeon and presented in public in London and later in Paris as a freak because of her oversized buttocks and genitalia.
After she died, her remains were displayed at the now-defunct Musée de l’Homme until 1976, and then kept in storage. In 2002, after years of resisting, France sent her remains home to South Africa.
OK so now kidlove’s artical makes it even an even worse reason to keep relics and body parts! Now we have got “murder” in our quest for “Education” as a reason for keeping all human remains of our past in the name or guise of Artifacts of our ancestors histories past lives and cultures. If we make a thing valuable people will KILL for it! When is enough enough?

Dean Cortez answers:
I would not like this at all. It should be buried.

David asks…
Can you give me your opinion?
My assignment is to write an essay that compares two cities (compare and contrast). I would like to know if I should add anything to it to make it stronger. Also if i should remore something. thank you!
Comparing Two Cities – Santa Monica and Beverly Hills
Santa Monica has been a rendezvous to many people who reside in it as well as tourists in the world. For the last two decades, the city has had a growth in population including tourism. Despite that event, Beverly Hills is a very popular city just as well as Santa Monica; they have many similarities and differences based on topics like location, population, and activities.
Santa Monica is located in the state of California; a city in western Los Angeles County. The city is surrounded by many cities; such as, Los Angeles- Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, west Los Angeles, Mar Vista, and Venice. Just six miles away is Beverly Hills. This city is also in the western part of Los Angeles County, California. The city is neighbored by West Hollywood and the City of Los Angeles. These two cities are on the same coasts a few miles away from the Pacific Ocean. It is obvious that both these cities have a similar temperature. Santa Monica’s weather average is 50-71 degrees Fahrenheit with September averaging the warmest month and January the coolest. Beverly Hills’ climate is slightly different; its weather average is 49-78 degrees Fahrenheit with August being the warmest month and January the coolest month. Both cities maximum average precipitation is in the month of February. Beverly Hills averages more precipitation than Santa Monica by 5.4 inches, however. Beverly Hills has a warm and moderate Mediterranean climate while Santa Monica usually enjoys a cool breeze blowing in from the ocean, keeping the air fresh and clean.
Santa Monica’s population today is 88,050 people. It has had a significant growth of people in the last two decades and has been people’s favorite city since the 20th century due to its lovely and perfect weather. The racial makeup in Santa Monica is as follows: 78.54% Whites, 13.05% Hispanics, 3.50% Blacks or African American, 7.55% Asian, and 9.94% other. The population in Beverly Hills is 34,600 people. A very large Persian/ Iranian community abides in Beverly Hills. The racial makeup for this city is: 84.89% Whites, 4.21% Hispanics, 1.75% Blacks, 7.67 Asians, and 5.53% other. Many people have chosen to live in Santa Monica since the beach is just a few feet away. The pier has food, games, rides, and many shops and restaurants. Also the 3rd street promenade is a few blocks from the pier and is a fun and exciting place for everyone. The promenade has dozens of clothing stores and boutiques. There are movie theaters, cafes, and ice cream stores. You do not need to leave Santa Monica because all the entertainment is there. On the other hand, Beverly Hills does not have even half of the places Santa Monica does. That is not the reason why its population is lower than Santa Monica, however. Beverly Hills expenses are too high that it’s a home to the rich and famous and those who can afford it. There is a lot to enjoy in Beverly Hills, too. For example, it is a nice area with large and luxurious homes. In addition to enjoying a nice view, the streets are safer and cleaner. This is why there are many people who rent. Not all of Beverly Hills populations are home owners. Many of them enjoy the security and tranquility with the help of the police who keep the city beautiful. There are many very expensive stores, and lots of cafes. In both cities, their population of whites is more prominent and the percentage continues to increase. Since more people are moving to Santa Monica, there are more jobs available. However, there is a decline in jobs in Beverly Hills.
In popular cities there are always activities to get involved with. In Santa Monica one can go to Museums; such as, the Getty Museum, California Heritage Museum, Historical Museum, and the Art Museum. In addition to Museums, the pier is a fun place to go to. There is a roller coaster, Ferris wheel, bumper cars, and an arcade. There is the third street promenade to explore as well as South American, Asian, and Middle Eastern restaurants. Or one can simply enjoy the waves in the mornings or at sunset. In Beverly Hills, one can go to the most expensive restaurant in LA, Urasawa. There are Beauty Salons, Coldwater Canyon Park and other parks, historical places like Graystone Park. Celebrities are seen dining in Urasawa’s Japanese restaurant and getting their hair done in Beverly Hills. There are exquisite stores and lounge and spa where one can relax and enjoy a massage.
While Santa Monica and Beverly Hills are six miles apart, they have different weather patterns, they share a number of similarities in terms of population, and activities.

I think you essays pretty cool, but a little scattered around. You should put tourism in one paragraph, climate and ecomony in another. And maybe a populations and culture. Then your pretty good. Still your essays awsome, and it shows you did your reseach on the two cities, ya just need alittle organization there. I hope that helps. ^^
