First we have to ask ourselves why many Asian men feel as though they have such a hard time in the dating world. The media has done it’s part to stereotype Asians as nerds, FOBs, karate masters, or “joke” characters like the guy from Fargo or the guy from American Idol.

Asian guys buy into these stereotypes and see being Asian as a thing to overcome. It’s been reported that Asian people have a higher degree of self hate then other races. Many Asian cultures also have a high degree of conformity. Individuality is suppressed in favor of the group. People who don’t conform are ostracized. Thus, there is tremendous social pressure to not speak out which is where you get lots of quiet Asian people.

I’ve taught English in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan and have to deal with this far too often when compared to teaching American kids. 2nd and 3rd generations have fewer limitations but still carry their parent’s “quiet” mentality.

It’s hard to play the dating game if you’re quiet. And that is where the answer to your question lies. You have to learn how to spit game. Use your words to weave spells around people. Learn to become more social and meet different people.

I met an Chinese dude in college…an ABC…who was overweight, shy and a little awkward. But there was something charming about him so my friends and I took him under our wings. We worked out and partied together. He got in shape and learned how to talk to people.

Last I heard, he’s doing well and dating a cute little white chick. So I’m glad I could play a part.

Mostly, because Asian men have been brought up to treat women like property. It has only been in recent times that Asian women have been excelling on their own without a husband. White women have been raised to be independent and can do anything a man could. So, its pretty rare a white woman would put that to the side and get involved with an asian guy. Or, by posting in this section, i would guess that since they are gay, they would prefer women, and no man of any origin.
