Maria asks…
what’s a nice baby name for a Vietnamese girl that can be read easily in English, i.e.: Kim or May?

Dean Cortez answers:
I like the name Mae (May) or Mai (My) but you probably want easy names…. Holly, Kate, Lynn, Lou, Beth, Jade, Eve, Sophie, Gina, Alex, Amy, Christy,Emily, Sara, Leah, Erin, Anna, Jenna these are some 1 to 2 syllable names
hope this helps you

Susan asks…
Vietnamese girl’s name, Mayko?
I always thought Mayko or Meiko is a Japanese name. The Canadian Regenesis actress Mayko Nguyen has Japanese connection or is it her fake name?
Right, I couldn’t find any proven source for that. And her last name, Nguyen is a typical Vietnamese family name…anyone?

Dean Cortez answers:
Certainly, Nguyen is the one of first names of many people in Vietnam, only in Vietnam. Mayko is relating to the Japanese. In Vietnam, when a baby was born, they must be named “first name” according to that of their fathers. It’s principle except a number of cases, for example, the babies are orphans or not to have father.
E.g.
Full name of the father is: “Nguyen Thanh Luan” ===> Full name of the son/daughter certainly is ” Nguyen……….”, for instance, “Nguyen Thi Thuy Lan”. But if the babies were born in American so they would named in other way but still remain “First name” in order to recall about their origination.

Donna asks…
what’s a good Vietnamese name for a girl?

Joseph asks…
What is the name of this really cute Vietnamese girl?
I’m not 100% sure if this girl is Vietnamese, but I was just going through the site and searched for some Vietnamese girls. This girl popped up on this page and I cant seem to figure out her name. I would really like to know it.
Here is the link to the page

The girl I’m talking about is in the top two pictures on this page, the ones that says cnpics.com at the bottom left corner. I’ve tried going to that site but it doesn’t seem to work or something. If anyone can figure out her name, or even ethnicity I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Dean Cortez answers:
She looks like any other urban Korean girl.

Steven asks…
Cute Girl/Boy Names (Twins)!!!!!?
I know I have posted this already but I’m giving birth in less than a week and I need just a couple more names!
I am pregnant with another child and I know its going to be twins; one boy and one girl.
I am Asian so I want my daughter to have an Asian name(preferably Vietnamese)
But a more Unique name from any language at all would be just fine with me.
Ex: Xavier(boy)
Shyana(girl)
Mai (girl)
Julian (boy)
Thank You so much!
Easy Points!
Oh and any tips on taking care of 2 sets of twins would be nice! I already have 3 year old girl twins. This will be my 2nd time having twins, but this time it will be from both genders. Thats very odd! But very special!

Dean Cortez answers:
Welli can’t really comment on the name Xavier because we are naming our son Xxavier(thats not a typo the extra x is there on purpose)
I like Julian but tis spelled like a girl so why not change it to Julien and i love Shyana for a girl but you could add an extra ‘n’ so Shyanna and maybe even an ‘h’ so Shyannah
Congrats on the babies and i have no idea on what tips i could give as i have never had twins.
ETA: so much for giving honest advice or opinions, nt a single person who answered this question got a thumb up, they all got thumbs down, how rude!

Chris asks…
Do you think this vietnamese girl looks like a decent girl you would marry ?
I personally think she is so cute, Her name is Cathy Nguyen. She’s not my girlfriend and I don’t think she would be able to be my girlfriend, she is like 4 years older than me. But she is cute though, you can see her close up at 0:57. Would she be a girl you would marry ?? I would marry her if she wants to marry me, lol

Dean Cortez answers:
I don’t think the way someone looks is anywhere close to adequate justification for marrying the person.

Nancy asks…
what dose the girl name “Tra My” mean in Vietnamese?
and also the name Kmwee…i know this one is asain but i dont know the origin.
no rude comments please.
“Tra” is one name and “my” is another
as in “Tra My Nguyen”

Dean Cortez answers:
Nguyen is her surname
“Tra My” is the name of a fragant flower. I believe it is the Camellia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camellia). The word “Tra” also means “tea”, which matches one of the main use of this plant in Asia.
“Tra My” is also the name of a district somewhere in central VN

John asks…
Does anyone know the name of this movie? (Japanese man and a white vietnamese girl?)?
so, all i can remember from this movie is that a young, white vietnamese girl is riding a ferry one day and a japanese man in a black car spots her. They soon start a romantic relationship and the japanese man is fascinated with being with a white female because he thinks shes so unattainable. And, i believe the japanese man is trapped in an arranged marriage because of family expectations. also, the japanese man seems to be in his mid 30s, while the girl is probably 16 or 17.
