The vietnam war timeline?
What was the timeline for the Vietnam war. Not the other stuff but just the timeline of when America arrived and when they departed. Any external links will help as well

The “other stuff” is just as important to understanding the wars in Vietnam (the French War and the American War). I suggest understanding the wars in their entirety, and avoiding the pitfall like many Americans do that the only war was was the American War, and the only heroes were the American heroes.

I need too know asap. I need too know, the causes for the war of Vietnam, and how/why it started..? Timeline? Anyone?

1944 – US OSS sent to advise Ho Chi Mein against the Japanese
1945 – France recolonizes Vietnam after the war
1946 – 1955 Vietnamese under HO Chi Mein start insurgency
1955 – France and the Vietnamese insurgents sign a cease fire
1955 – 1958 – US aids France in withdrawing from Vietnam
1958 – North Vietnam declares nationhood, national elections are canceled
1960- US sends military advisers to South Vietnam
1965 – After the Gulf of Tonkin incident, US deploys ground combat troops to South Vietnam
1965 – 1970 – US increases ground troops in Vietnam
1970 – Nixon starts Vietnamization program and starts withdrawing US forces
1973 – US and North Vietnam sign crease fire, US POWS returned, US withdraws from Vietnam.
1974 – US Congress blocks any military aid or equipment to South Vietnam
1975 – North Vietnam invades South Vietnam
1975 – North Vietnam conquers South Vietnam, nation of Vietnam is declared.
